The West Newton Center for Active Adults, 103 E. Main St., has posted several upcoming activities.
Exercise Classes: Join the West Newton Center for free Healthy Steps in Motion exercise classes from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesdays, beginning Jan. 29.
HSIM is a fall-prevention group exercise program designed to accommodate beginners, intermediates and experts alike.
For those interested in Tai Chi for arthritis, the exercise program will continue from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Jan. 21.
Zumba is offered from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturdays. Cost is $6 per person. Call Gyda at (412) 558-4992.
Crafts: Crafting hours are held at 11 a.m. Mondays in the center's newly revamped craft room, the spokesperson said. The craft area also is available any weekday.
The Rewind-Reuse Center & Workshop will be at the center at 12:30 p.m. Feb. 10 to showcase ways to reuse discarded materials and turn them into art rather than sending them to landfills. People who are interested should call the center in advance.
Health & Wellness: Kathleen from Senior Life will be at the center to do blood pressure checks at 11:30 a.m. Friday (Jan. 10). Kathy from Hometown Pharmacy will do blood pressure checks at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 31.
Kayla from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program will be at the center at 11 a.m. Jan. 15 to discuss benefits for fixed income participants.
Bingo: Grocery Bingo will move to the third Tuesday of each month beginning at 1 p.m. Jan. 21. Prizes range from bags of groceries to Giant Eagle gift cards.
The center continues its Jackpot Bingo every Tuesday from 11:15 a.m. to 12 noon, as well as Nickel Bingo at 12:30 p.m. Wednesdays.
