Tube City Community Media Inc. is seeking freelance writers to help cover city council, news and feature stories in McKeesport, Duquesne, White Oak and the neighboring communities. High school and college students seeking work experience are encouraged to apply; we are willing to work with students who need credit toward class assignments. The First Church of God in West Newton wil sponsor a bus trip to PNC Park on June 6 when the Pittsburgh Pirates host the St. Louis Cardinals during a “Faith Day” event at the ballpark.
The price is $50 and includes a $10 voucher for concessions at the game. The bus departs the parking lot at West Newton Elementary School at 2 p.m. and the game begins at 4:05 p.m. For tickets, call Kathy at (724) 872-6047.
In addition, the church is holding another fundraiser to support its upcoming mission trip to New Mexico. The fundraiser is at Wish’s Bar & Grill, 404 Broadway, Scottdale on March 25.
When diners eat at Wish’s that day between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m. and mention the First Church of God, 20 percent of the cost of their meal will be donated to the church’s trip.
