High school and college students seeking work experience are encouraged to apply; we are willing to work with students who need credit toward class assignments. School Board Questionnaires Mailed

Two weeks ago, Tube City Almanac mailed questionnaires to all 13 candidates running for McKeesport Area School Board. The questionnaires include 10 questions that were created by Almanac editor Jason Togyer and freelance writer Adam Reinherz with help from several non-profit associations for school board members.
Over the weekend, we sent a reminder to anyone who had not yet responded. Both the questionnaire and the reminders were sent to the addresses candidates listed on their nominating papers.
One candidate just called to ask if the questionnaire was a “scam.” It’s not a scam, it’s an honest attempt to get every candidate’s opinions to questions such as, “Why did you decide to run for school board?”
